Personal Hygene (or lack thereof)
So I'm running around Market Street running errands. I see the following:
A guy on the Muni Metro clipping his fingernails.
Shit and piss all over Market Street
Bums pissing in the alley behind my building
No SFPD presence of any kind. And even if they were out in force, they wouldn't be able to arrest or force these "people" off the street and to send them back where they came from...
San Francisco, where you can shit and piss on the street.
How about this for the new San Francisco greeting: "Welcome to San Francisco; watch out for the shit"!

Apple Bay Street
Last night, I was kinda bored and restless. So I went over to Emeryville. But I didn't go to Ikea. No swedish meatballs this time...
Next door to the Ikea is a sorta new development called
Bay Street Emeryville. It has a big AMC, parking and a pseudo "main street" that actually looks like Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek.
The usual yupster chains are represented, BR, PB, Coach, etc. But they have an Apple Store, which made the trip worthwhile.
I got to play with a 12" Powerbook with an iSight attached. That's Apple's take on a webcam. The whole system works really well.
Gotta get one of these soon before I head overseas again.
