More Field Work
More of the same. Drive 40 miles. Get volunteers. Drive back 40 miles. Get precincts and drive. Walk. Go back. Lunch. Get more precincts. Walk. Go back and turn in paperwork. Another 80 mile round trip.
Thank goodness I’m not paying for gas!

From an undisclosed location...
Well, if you've spoken to me recently, you probably know where I am.
I'm currently doing GOTV work for the Bush Campaign in a battlefield state. I've been barely on the ground 24 hours and I'm already knee deep in field work. That's where the real work is.
We've got a large group of student volunteers from a nearby college and they're hungry for the fight. I took them around walking precincts and making sure that they don't have any problems.
Opposition is here in force as well. Every left-wing 501c3 and 527 is here. But still our people here get a lot of support. And there is an equal amount of Bush signs and stickers compared with the opposition's propaganda.
I also did some computer work, fixing a router/wireless issue and compiled a secured list of guests for an upcoming event.
It's almost 0000 hours. I was here at 0800 this morning. Everyone is still here working. The average age of the core staff is 30 and there are a lot of people involved here.
After all, it IS a battlefield state. I miss the urgency and the optimism of campaigns such as these. You NEVER get this kind of excitement in San Fran...!

Whose side is Gavin on? Not San Francisco's!
Gavin Newsom ran for Mayor of San Francisco as a sane moderate candidate.
Compared to the marxist Matt Gonzalez.
However, Gavin's done some things since he became Mayor that would put that into question.
Like proposing a business and sales tax increase initiative(s) to keep the fat city unions happy. Or by siding with the unions who are currently striking our major hotels.
The primary issue is that they want a 2 year contract instead of the usual 5 year contract. In 2 years, other hotel unions across the country have their contracts come up. The union slime out here want to be part of that so they can coordinate a nationwide strike. The hotels are saying "nope".
In certain situations, this kind of coordination between the unions would be illegal. Or a consipiracy (like what left-wingers were saying about power deregulation). Anyway, about Gavin
taking sides from the Ex and from
the Chron
Mayor Gavin Newsom issued a stern warning to hotel owners Monday, promising that The City would impose economic sanctions against the hotels if the operators didn't agree to end a two-week-old lockout by 2 p.m. today. Newsom said a balk on hotel owners' part could end up costing them, not for a short period, but for years. "I would do everything in my power to make sure The City does not do business with the hotels," he said.
The mayor, who for weeks has been careful to remain neutral in the labor dispute, also said he would join picketing workers if the hotel owners did not grant his request.
Ummm. That's not being neutral by joining one side against the other and making demands on one side but not the other.
Only a democrat could call that being "carefully neutral".
Now here's a bigger issue. Gavin is siding with the unions against the hotels, threatening them with a city boycott that will "end up costing them for years".
Since San Francisco lives and survives by taxes, wouldn't the reduced amount of business reduce the tax that these hotels pay into the city coffers?
So in the long run, these hotels will do less business, pay less tax and employ less San Franciscians? That's not in the best interest of the City.
This dispute, it's the union's interests versus San Francisco's interests.
And by siding with the unions, Gavin shows where his interests lie.
Too bad.

Kerry is a LIAR who LIES!
Title of entry refers to this ugly incident on MSNBC last week. Back to today's rant.
Kerry's entire campaign is made up of LIES!
Some of the LIES these LIARS have told the world during this campaign:
Kerry LIED about his heroic Vietnam service
Kerry LIED about going into Cambodia
Kerry LIED about turning traitor in Paris
Kerry LIED about his voting record in the Senate
Kerry LIED about not wanting to impose a draft (or the politically correct term "national service")
Kerry LIED about the Republicans trying to impose a draft (it was Carter who reactivated Selective Service AND it was democrap Rangel (d-NY) who authored the bill to reinstate the draft that was voted down recently in the House)
And now, yet another Kerry LIE:
Kerry
LIED about meeting the Security Council about Iraq. Guess he failed his own global test, eh?

Voter Disenfranchisement brought to you by democraps!
A friend sent me this clip.
Wonder why the dum dems are trying to
disenfranchise our military personnel who are serving overseas?
Could
this be a coincidence? Hmmmmm?
Well, this is probably the reason why.

Connection between Saddam and al-Queda?
According to the all knowing left-wing in San Fran, there was no connection and the President went into Iraq to benefit:
The energy/oil industry
Halliburton
The guys that made Team America
Republicans
Furthermore, these all knowing left-wingers say that the President should obey the "bi-partisan" 9/11 Commission's findings since a bunch of opportunists (dem) on Capitol Hill obviously know more about what's happening over there than our alphabet soup of intellegence agencies and our military who are boots on the ground in Iraq (and according to the dems, aren't even worthy to vote in the November election).
But what is this? Looks like even the 9/11 "commission" found a connection.
It's so plain even a democrap (with the "best" ivy league education someone else's money can buy) can understand it.
