HKG makes that decision on who has the right to enter their territory. If they were able to keep out Falun Gong members and various members of the Taiwan Government, they should be able to keep out the spoiled rich left wing brats.
Why all this prep? Because in December, HKG will be hosting the latest round of WTO talks. And we all remember what happened to Seattle a few years back. Then Italy. Now they want to try this in HKG/China?
I'm concerned about the response of the
Hong Kong Police. The last big demonstration in HKG was pretty big (850,000) but respectful and well behaved. No vandalism. No picking fights with the HKP. As demonstrated during the last few WTO rounds, the leftists that sneak through will be a different ball of wax and will be posing for a sympathetic left-wing media elite that will try to paint them in a good light. Hong Kong should keep these people out. As for the ones that actually get in and start trouble, they should be dealt with firmly the moment they step out of line. The message that the HKP should send is: "Hey leftist, this ain't San Francisco!". There's one other option that the HK authorities should consider...requesting the Hong Kong Garrison of the PLA to be deployed as backup to the HKP.
This may be the ONLY time I will condone and encourage PLA troops to be deployed in Hong Kong.Wonder if they're of the Rapid Reaction variety? It's the best way to deal with these leftists in the only way they will understand. Brute force.
