The Battle has been won, not the warSo after a lot of nastiness, the SF Planning Commission
approved the Home Depot store on Bayshore with yet more concessions.
But the limousine liberals ain't done yet! They can appeal the decision to the Bored of Stupidvisors. And since many of them are fellow limousine liberals, AND Gavin supports the Home Despot, it's a crapshoot on what they will do.
They can either do what's best for the Bayview (highly doubtful) or fall back on ideology, bigotry and elitism (just like a liberal).

SF Liberals wage war against Black CommunityAt least that's what the headlines about the
Home Depot drama should read, because that's what it's really about.
Tony Bernal Heights dun like the fact that another neighbourhood, poor black Bayview, could be the receipient of a Home Depot in a location that once was Goodman Lumber, also a home improvement/hardware store. They could improve their district without "help" from the liberal left! GASP!!!
Even though there is a very VERY big hill separating the two districts, the liberals complain that the proposed Home Depot will "
repress the charm of small businesses".
Repress? WTF?
We are talking about a project that will jumpstart the Bayview, a district that has had every promise of commercial development either betrayed or torpedoed by the liberal left in San Francisco. Remember the 49er's Stadium Mall?
And now, with the impending completion of the 3rd Street Light Rail, the Home Depot and the proposed Hunter's Point Shipyard community project, the Bayview may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. These projects represent investment in the Bayview for yuppie transplants (new neighbourhood) as well as for the people who live there now (HD jobs).
Bernal Heights leftists will have none of that! Why? Remember, it's OK for them to displace people of colour in "depressed"areas such as Hayes Valley, the Mission and Bernal Heights in the name of "gentrification" and make the rest of the City suffer because of it. But when another area (such as Bayview) has the opportunity to help itself and there's no direct payoff to the leftists, they scream bloody murder and say that they will be hurt by the development (again because they don't get paid off).
The end game of Home Depot on Bayshore will mean the following: Jobs for locals, increased tax revenue for the City and a new anchor store for that blighted stretch of Bayshore Boulevard. But since Bernal Heights gets none of this, no one should get it, ESPECIALLY the Bayview.
One fren o' mine thinks that the real reason is this: Bernal Heights libs want to keep the blacks in "their place" by opposing this project. How, you ask? Well, if the HD gets built, locals could be come managers of the store. They will make more money. And perhaps, just perhaps, they may look to purchase a home. Maybe in Bernal Heights even!
And that would just RUIN the "charm" of their neighbourhood!
The left has always been made up of "bigots in disguise". Disguising their bigotry with feel good rubbish. And this is yet another example.
And another why the left in San Francisco MUST BE PURGED. Grrrrrr

An "apocalyptic" Good ThingTwo of the unions that make up a beeg part of the AFL-CIO's money base have
bolted! Yay! Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of the unions. Now what makes ths "apocalyptic"? According to a democrap strategist quoted in the article, "It's the worst thing that could happen to us as a party".
Because these unions provide billions of dollars and free campaign materials (through "member communications") exclusively to the democrap party. The same unions that harrass and intimidate people who dun agree with them (I have personal experience with this). And the same unions that raise dues to fund political campaigns (CTA). The same union movement that has driven two of the big three auto makers as well as much of the US airline industry into the ground.
More importantly, as shown by the "strategist's" statement, the democrap party cares more about all that union money than it does about the "little people" that they claim to represent. Otherwise it wouldn't be "apocalyptic".
As I've said before, break the unions! No unions = a much weaker democrap party and maybe a bunch of people that will be allowed to think for themselves for the first time!
Hope this is the beginning.
