please mind the gap

Watching the gap between sanity and stupidity grow wider and wider in San Francisco

Aiya!

Sometimes when you meet a fren's dog for the first time, it sniffs you out...especially your crotch.

This is the reason why this is a bad thing (from the unlinkable South China Morning Post)

Dog gets too friendly

A man, 22, was recovering in Queen Elizabeth Hospital after being bitten in the genitals by his dog in his Hunghom home. Police said the victim had been playing with his pet in his Wan Tat Street flat when the attack took place.

That's why I don't like dogs that sniff too much...arf arf

Funny Thinking Guy

Dennis Miller is back on TV. He's on CNBC (that's channel 62 on Comcast SF) at 2100 Sunday through Thursday.

His first guest was the Governator. The interview wasn't too bad, seemed more like a stump speech for the upcoming bond/spending limit initiatives. But despite that, what Gov. Schwarzenegger said about what the bond is for made sense to me and helped me understand the concept.

Here's what I'd say if asked. It's like a consolidation loan. Follow. Many people have student loans that they owe from years of education. BA, MA, PhD, JD, whatever. Lots of loans at high interest. So you take out a consolidation loan at the low low interest rate we have right now for the amount of the debt u got. Your old debt gets paid off and your new debt is for the same amount but at much much cheaper interest. So in the long run, it's cheaper.

If I'm still misunderstanding this, leave a comment with an explaination please.

Eat outside of San Francisco?

So last election cycle, the leftists jammed through an initiative that imposes a "county minimum wage" (any lawyers reading this, could this be a supremacy issue with state law?). Its going to affect wait staff the most, giving them a massive raise at the expense of the restaurant they work in. (are the majority of waitstaff leftists?).

Besides the class and color issues within the restaurant (you can read the article for yourself), it also talks about how restaurants plan to deal with this.

One plans a "European style" service charge (as if that made it OK, being "European Style") and some others plan to raise prices.

If this actually comes to fruition, here's what I personally plan to do.

Higher prices? Going outside of San Francisco County to eat. Hell, Burlingame and DC have neat places to eat and even further south does too.

Service Charge? Well, if we are doing this because Europe (France) does this, can we adopt another "European" (and Asian) custom?

No tip!

I mean, to pay the charge AND and extra 15-20% for tip? Sounds like another tax, errr entitlement.

Hell is getting colder...

On this ONE ISSUE, I find myself in agreement with Stupidvisors Daly (6th Dist.) and Gonzalez (5th Dist).

You may now reel from the shock. GASP!

Police Issues

Adam Sparks has a disturbing piece about the Police and liberal meddling in our major cities.

In the case of LA, I can see it happening; as for San Francisco, it IS happening...

What needs to be done is to direct the bad guys toward these libs who are eating away at our personal security and quality of life.

Remember, some of the most rabid conservatives are liberals who have gotten mugged!

Then some will become neo-cons.

I don't agree necessarily with all of it but he makes very valid points. It is what it is.
And simply because of the subject matter, it's worth reading. Remember this next time you need a cop (and not just for revenue enforcement).
