Why doesn't California elect its own to the White House?
Because California is leftist compared to the rest of the country!
DUH!

So let me get this straight.
A handful of hooligans (whoops, I mean "demonstrators") along with their buddy in power, Matt Gonzalez, are
bemoaning the fact that the Police and Sheriff's Departments were doing their jobs by arresting them. And Gonzalez is moaning about the overtime that the two departments had to log to control these "people".
Since when did he care about the budget? Especially with his 200% payraise and no restrictions on outside income.
So what is Gonzalez trying to say? Let the "demonstrators" run amok becuase he dun wanna pay for Police overtime? That's a bit of a stretch (read the article) but one can infer that...
The "peaceful" demonstrators who are whining because they took baton hits after they started to hurl pipe wrenches, bottles and other items at officers? In any other jurisdiction, wouldn't that be assaulting a peace officer? If I was on the reciving end of pipe wrenches thrown at me, you can bet my response would be more than just a couple of taps with the baton and an arrest.
And just because you choose not to hear orders to disperse doesn't mean that it didn't happen...
At least at the moment, Gonzalez isn't running for reelection. That's a start.

Get a Life!
There's a
biotech convention in San Francisco this week that has brought out the
usual whack-jobs. Which is a tad too much especially since there was a whack-job march
last weekend.
Except there's not as much patience for their antics this time around. Brooke Shields (yes, her), who was attending the conference had this to say about the looney left wingers:
"Get a life".

I've always
liked her!

partisan rebuff
It's accepted knowledge that since the 2000 presidential Campaign, the democraps have instituted the "total campaign", meaning that they are ALWAYS on campaign and ALWAYS partisan and never ever do anything that will benefit the other side. Especially in San Francisco, where we have uniparty rule (the reason why things are soooo fucked up here) and it SHOWS!
I asked an acquaintance who used to be a bud I hung out with a lot, about attending the Memorial tomorrow night and gave my reasons why.
"A former President has passed", "Unity", etc etc.
In response I got: "Well many people hated Reagan" and "that's Republican spin".
I mentioned that many people in that group of people that "hate" Reagan benefited a LOT during the 80s' and early 90s' and some have even
mellowed out after they grew up and
realized that.
This is especially disappointing because I'm in an API Leadership Project that emphasizes outreach and coalition building and what not, getting APIs into elected office.
It reminds me of the story of extending the hand of friendship only to get it cut off to the stump.
At least you see the
true colors of people whose mantra is "diversity" and "embracing differences". As long as you agree with them. Common decency and respect is something that a democrap does not observe unless it's for them. Even if the person they are attacking is dead.
Now if Republicans did this sort of thing when a bigshot dem dies, well, they will be lynched in the media for not being sensitive or respectful, etc etc.
And if you have a different viewpoint that runs counter to theirs, "fuck you". Like the actions of Canada's
"Prime Minister".
The worst thing of this is that it feeds the fire. For now Republican activists and officials will remember this behaviour and will strike back when it is appropriate. And the dum dems will whine and moan.
Because it is this common decency that Republicans and true conservatives possess for all and dum dems possess only for themselves, this is the reason why Republicans control the Congress and the Presidency.
Yup, tolerant San Francisco. You learn a lot about a city by the actions of it's leaders...

It's not about him!
So
Bill Clinton is pissed off because he won't be able to deliver a
anti Republican tirade speech at President Reagan's service. Remember what happened last time a former official of the Clinton Administration was allowed to
speak?
He thinks he's entitled because he was a former president AND in the words of one of his cronies, "It's a state funeral paid for with tax dollars". He's further pissed off because both Presidents Bush will be there and speaking. He wants to speak so that it will be "non-partisan".
I should mention that Clinton spoke at President Nixon's services in a way that was respectful and classy and non-partisan. But he spoke there because he was President at the time. He's not President now. W is.
If you let Clinton speak, it becomes a partisan event. Both Bush Presidents personally knew President Reagan, that's why they're speaking! One of them worked for him and the other is the President now.
Gasp! And no equal time for rebuttal?
At a service like this, the family and friends of the deceased speak.
Not slimebag political opportunists.

Or
proof that democrap party unity still exists at some level in San Francisco. Do I smell the shitty stench of political cover?
If lockyer plans to run against the Governor in 2006, this definitely will make him lose votes outside of San Francisco County...Good!
