Parking Rates to go up (AGAIN). So shop in San Mateo County?
Soooo the taxpaying motorists (who pay road tax, use tax, parking tax, gas tax, excise tax, etc etc) will once again be
extorted into subsidizing MUNI.
Despite the admission that the two things that are driving (pun intended) MUNI operation costs up are: labor and fuel, instead of adjusting the fares to reflect the true cost of operating OR having the union do a "give back" like many of the other city unions have done recently, instead the city wants to gouge the silent majority, thinking they'll like it.
Of course, this does fall into left-wing liberal patterns of tax and spend. Tax one group of people unfairly (motorists and motorcyclists) so you can pay off cronies (MUNI unions) who support your cause come election time (by votes, soft money and "
labor neighbor" efforts)
An interesting ending to this article though. They actually left in a call for action at the end of the article. Maybe this will give birth to the SFMU (San Francisco Motorist's Union). Definitely a union that silly hall will not like.
