Are you Kidding??So now since SBC (the sucky communications monopoly here) bought ATT (the used-to-b-a monopoly), they are now going to change "SBC" to "AT&T", thus coming full circle from 1984. And it only took 21 years.
But how does this affect us in the socialist regime of San Francisco?
They're going to rename PacBellPark AGAIN. Now it will be "AT&T Park". How generic is that? I guess that at least ppl will know what AT&T is, as opposed to SBC (what does that stand for anyway?).

Successful student StoryThe Chron had a nice
feel good story that sounded surprised that two black kids in the 'hood are getting good grades and how unusual that is, considering the circumstances. Like these liberal media elites expected these kids to fail and to accept a ready handout from them. Click the link and read the story.
Now their shocking discovery is that, gasp, it's the involvement of the mother of the kids and discipline at home that gets these kids to study!
It's not overpaid union teachers or school administrators. It's, guess what?
FAMILY VALUES! So when the CTA and the other unions try to take credit for school grades, remember that it all begins at home. The CTA, if anything has done more to ruin public education over the past 10 years than help it.
And when the affirmative action bigots start bleating about how there should be set asides because of "underachievement" and race, remember this story.
And this is the same method that most Asian-American kids have used to get their good grades for many MANY years.
