Waaaah! Mobiles will work on BARTSo
BART has finally allowed the private sector to
begin wiring the BART stations so you can use your mobile underground!
Waaaaaah!
The reason why they finally buckled under to the demands of the majority of their riders is financial. It has nothing to do with public safety or the desires of its ridership.
The private sector will install it and run it.
BART collects rent.
BART gets yet another revenue stream that doesn't involve fare increases or yet more service cuts
People can use their phones and crackberries on the trains. Everyone wins, right? According to the Chron, nope.
Naturally, they had to search out for a left wing idiot who feels that the "quality of her commute" will suffer because people will be talking. Whether people are talking to each other over a cell phone or over a person's shoulder, the "quality of the commute" is a non-issue. BART cars are filthy, serving as bum hotels and are louder than a liberal whose "free money" has been taken away, there's no quality of commute here.
By this first step, BART is one step closer to comparing itself to other "third world" (non-American and European, according to the liberals here) rail systems, such as the
MTR,
MRT and
Eidan that are immaculate, wired and extremely punctual.
Of course, BART ain't any of those, but they will continue to brag about being "
#1 Transit System in US", according to this "
non profit" made up of other money guzzling government agencies...

Only a Bureaucrat...would find amazing the fact that trains that go faster will
get more riders.
Now if we could only get some common sense in San Francisco, where it's
taxation and traffic calming that will get more riders on transit, according to the government drones.
Yeah right.
Taxation ain't innovation, folks!!
