Yet another "school bond"So there's a
proposal out there to impose yet another
tax on oppressed San Francisco property owners. And since it's sort of related to "Education", it needs only a simple majority to pass (as opposed to 2/3 of the vote for other kinds of taxes).
It's to pay for a "raise" for CTA members (aka school teachers). The SFUSD already takes in millions of dollars from county, state and federal funds AND taxpayers. If the Board kanna budget their money properly so they can give the "teachers" raises without imposing yet another tax on property owners, maybe it's time for a new board...
But check out the kicker in the last paragraph of the
story. The union says it will support this tax to give them raises ONLY if language about MERIT PAY is struck from this latest version.
So the union wants the raise, but dun wanna to earn it? Of course! They're union!
